A Founding Partner (with Ralph Bönig) of the practice in 1993, John’s areas of expertise are workers compensation, professional indemnity and general insurance.
He specialises in complex claims which frequently involve medico-legal matters. He acts for significant corporations, including national and international insurers and statutory bodies. John’s areas of special interest included insurance dispute resolution, stress-related employment issues, compensation fraud and mediation. John is retained as consultant by clients to assist with strategic management issues. John enjoys his reputation for being hard-nosed, yet retaining the balance in order to negotiate excellent commercial outcomes for clients. He particularly enjoys the cut and thrust of negotiating difficult claims. His professional and personal motto is that “there is a practical solution for every problem”, which is in part reflected in the firm’s branding, ‘focused’.
John remains happily married to Sally and has three gorgeous adult daughters. He has a number of out of work interests, but is particularly passionate about his lifelong hobby photography.
